General Description:

You are responsible for examining materials for quality and defects and ensures that people, equipment, and materials are used properly to maximize productivity.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervises and directs the activities of the staff in the Quality Assurance department. 
  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests of functionality; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests of functionality; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
  • Ensures packaging specs are maintained, palletizing standards, and inclusion of required accessories with product. 
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.   
  • Communicates with customers on-site as needed.
  • Investigates, documents and maintains all relevant records accurately. 

Minimum Qualifications for Position: 

  • BS in Engineering 
  • 5+ years of relevant working experience. 
  • Extensive knowledge and/or training in Core Tools (APQP, FMEA, CONTROL PLANS)
  • Skill in reviewing and formulating/revising operations policies and procedures; ability to exercise controls over the implementation of policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of quality standards and models. 
  • Knowledge and experience with Lean manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.   

Preferred Qualifications for Position:

  • Six Sigma black belt
  • Knowledge or experience with relational databases
